Global mobile market data analytics firm Sensor Tower said on Tuesday that Stellar Blade has ranked No. 1 in hack-and-slash genre revenue since its launch on Steam.
A report released by Sensor Tower said Stellar Blade has sold about 3.7 million copies globally since its PlayStation launch in April 2024. That ranks fourth in hack-and-slash genre sales on the platform over the past year. The United States accounted for the largest share of players at 33 percent, and 57 percent were hardcore gamers with 100 or more games in their libraries.
Performance of the Steam version, released on June 12 last year, is more prominent. Since its Steam launch, cumulative sales have reached about 2.4 million copies and cumulative revenue has exceeded $100 million. It ranked first in both cumulative sales and revenue among Steam hack-and-slash games over the past year.
Despite a relatively high price of $59.99, it posted a rating of 94.2 percent, well above the average rating of 71 percent for paid hack-and-slash titles, demonstrating the completeness of its content, the report said.
In the Steam player mix, Chinese users accounted for 52 percent, a majority. Expanding to the PC platform in China, where PlayStation use is limited, proved effective in broadening the base of new users, it said.
The PC release also had a positive effect on existing console metrics. As of June 12, when the PC version was released, PlayStation daily active users surged more than sixfold from the previous day, setting a record high. An update that improved visual quality and tie-in content with Shift Up's flagship intellectual property Goddess of Victory: NIKKE were seen as creating cross-platform synergy.
