Physical AI company Carbonsix said on Tuesday it will build a “physical AI manufacturing innovation hub” in Changwon and support demonstrations and on-site application of physical AI technologies for local manufacturers.

The company said the hub is not a simple regional branch office or product showroom. It said the hub positions itself as a manufacturing innovation base to identify local manufacturers’ automation demand and connect physical AI demonstrations to actual deployment at production sites.

Carbonsix will work with Changwon-based “Innerstry” to create physical AI demonstration and training space at the MDCG (Manufacturing Data Community Ground) built at Taerim Industrial within the Changwon National Industrial Complex.

Unlike conventional robot automation showrooms that demonstrate pre-installed equipment, Carbonsix’s demonstration space will be run as a customer-participation venue. Manufacturing companies will be able to bring production samples and verify the feasibility of automating their own processes.

In particular, if a manufacturer brings actual production samples, data can be collected on site and an initial AI model can be created using Carbonsix SigmaKit, the company said. It said this would allow a review on the same day of whether the process could be applied to mass production.

Carbonsix plans to connect physical AI technology to existing manufacturing data infrastructure and build an environment where the entire process can be verified on site, from manufacturing data collection to AI model training and actual robot task execution.

Carbonsix Chief Executive Tae-yeon Moon (문태연) said, “For manufacturers to adopt physical AI, it is more important to have an environment where they can directly test their actual products and processes and check applicability than to show a completed technology.” He added, “Through the physical AI manufacturing innovation hub, we will support local manufacturers so they can identify automation demand, accumulate data and internalize the technology.”
