Kang Jin-mo (강진모), chairman of ITCEN Group, is running in the presidential election for the Korea Billiards Federation (KBF).

Ahead of the election, Kang on Sept. 28 announced four pledges and 12 detailed tasks under the vision of “Billiards, connecting with the world.”

Kang said South Korean billiards already has world-class skill and a broad participation base, but it still lacks an industrial foundation and international standing that match its level. He said he will connect billiards with people, industry, technology and the world to make it a leading sport with status that matches its ability.

The sports tech division of ITCEN Group affiliate ITCEN CLOIT has built event operation systems for the Olympics and Asian Games over 40 years, from the 1986 Seoul Asian Games to the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Kang said he will put that experience and digital innovation capabilities into reforming billiards administration and match operations.

Kang said he will ensure that a first cue leads to the national team, popularity becomes vitality for the billiards industry, scattered records become a single source of trust, and world No. 1-level skill carries onto the global stage. He stressed that the federation they build together will not be one that announces plans, but one that discloses results, and that he will deliver through action and performance.

The Korea Billiards Federation presidential election will be held by online voting from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 1.
