GS ITM said on Monday it had obtained Level 3 certification for version 3.0 of the global business process capability assessment model CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) for its systems integration business for the third consecutive time.

CMMI is an internationally used model for assessing the maturity of system development processes. It assigns ratings by quantitatively analysing and evaluating organisational processes. Level 3 means an organisation’s standard processes are systematically defined and applied consistently across all projects. It is used as a preferential condition, including awarding additional points during ordering evaluations for systems integration projects by large companies and public institutions.

GS ITM said the certification assessment recognised its management capabilities in key process areas in its systems integration business division, including project management, quality assurance and risk management. GS ITM said it will strengthen its ability to carry out projects based on new technologies such as AI, cloud, big data and security based on the certification.

GS ITM CEO Min-kyun Kang said, "Since development and service quality are directly linked to customers' business performance, a quantitative management system is more important than technical capabilities." He said, "By obtaining CMMI Level 3 certification for three consecutive times, we have been recognised externally for our process capabilities and excellence in our quality management system, and this will lead to stronger order-winning competitiveness."
