Nexon said on Tuesday that Arc Raiders, developed by its subsidiary Embark Studios, has surpassed 12.4 million copies in cumulative worldwide sales. The milestone came about two months after its official launch, an unusual achievement among games released by South Korean publishers.

Arc Raiders sold 10 million copies in less than two months after its release on Oct. 30 last year. It continued its growth trend, reaching 12.4 million in cumulative sales by early January.

Responses have been broad across platforms. The game gained popularity on all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and surpassed 960,000 in peak concurrent users. That set a new record for the title. It has also stayed near the top of Steam's global best-selling products ranking for 10 weeks.

The game has been recognised for both its gameplay quality and commercial success, and has made its presence felt at global awards events. It won the best multiplayer game category at The Game Awards and took the most innovative gameplay category at the 2025 Steam Awards hosted by Steam.

The performance is the result of seven years of collaboration between Nexon and Embark Studios. Nexon began its initial investment in 2018 and, after bringing Embark in as a wholly owned subsidiary, has maintained a development approach that prioritises completeness over short-term results. Nexon's global service know-how combined with Embark's independent development capabilities has produced results spanning Western and Asian markets, it said.

Jung-heon Lee, head of Nexon's Japan unit, said, "Arc Raiders has shown the potential to establish itself as Nexon's next-generation blockbuster intellectual property (IP)." He said, "This achievement, delivered through long-term collaboration with Embark Studios, proves that Nexon's strategy to grow global franchise IP is leading to tangible results."

Patrick Soderlund, head of Embark Studios, said, "We thank the community for enabling us to achieve the meaningful milestone of 12.4 million copies sold cumulatively." He added, "We will continue to communicate closely with users so we can work together to decide the game's direction."

Arc Raiders is a PvPvE survival adventure game set in a post-post-apocalyptic world. It recorded a critic recommendation score of 92 percent on global review site OpenCritic, earning its highest grade, the Mighty badge.
