Mirae Asset Securities said on Tuesday that Vice Chairman Kim Mi-seob joined the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency-led relay campaign to eradicate youth illegal gambling.
The campaign is a nationwide effort launched in March under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. It is being run in relay format with the slogan, "Illegal cyber gambling targeting teenagers is a fraudulent crime you can never win," to publicise the seriousness and risks of youth gambling problems.
Kim took part after being nominated by Shinhan Bank CEO Jeong Sang-hyeok. He shared a photo on social media carrying a message urging an end to youth illegal gambling and stressed the importance of preventing youth gambling.
"Youth illegal gambling is an issue that goes beyond individual deviance and threatens society's sustainability," Kim said. "Mirae Asset Securities will continue to take part so that teenagers can grow up in a healthy environment," he said.
Kim also nominated Hyundai Motor Securities CEO Bae Hyung-geun and Hana Bank CEO Lee Ho-seong as the next participants in the relay campaign.
