NC Cultural Foundation said on Jan. 13 it newly opened a youth creative activity space called Projectory in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

The travelling Projectory programme, which opened its third location in Seongnam after Nonsan and Suwon, was launched to provide youths outside Seoul with self-directed creative activity experiences.

Projectory Seongnam was set up on the fourth floor of the Seongnam Culture and Arts Education Center and will operate for about six months from Wednesday through June 27. It is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Projectory Seongnam brings over the operating model and horizontal culture of the main space in Seoul. It is equipped with work areas such as a Garage for handling professional equipment, along with more than 150 types of tools and materials. Members can join various programmes including group activities and creative workshops centered on self-directed projects.

Any youth aged 10 to 18, corresponding to fourth-grade elementary school through third-grade high school (born 2008 to 2016), can join for free even if they do not live in Seongnam. To sign up, applicants must apply for membership on the official Projectory website and take part in an in-person consultation. Members who attend at least three times a month will receive a certificate of participation and membership-linked benefits that allow them to use Projectory Hyehwa.

Park Myung-jin, chair of NC Cultural Foundation, said, "In the AI era, the importance of creative education for future generations is being emphasized even more." He added, "I hope the small experiences of failure that youths build up at Projectory will lead to challenges toward big future success."

NC Cultural Foundation is a non-profit foundation established in 2012 to carry out systematic and sustained corporate social responsibility activities to mark NCSoft's 15th anniversary. Projectory Seongnam was promoted as part of NCSoft consortium's activities to contribute to the local community.
