Cybersecurity firm Genians said on Tuesday it developed an AI-based K-cybersecurity integrated management platform called the Nexus Framework through a national project, "Cybersecurity International Cooperation-Based Technology Development", supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The project focuses on developing a managed security system optimised for the Middle East market as part of efforts to develop technology based on demand in overseas markets and promote the global expansion of Korean companies.

Genians, the lead research and development institution, has carried out the project since July 2024 and first unveiled the Nexus Framework at the Middle East security exhibition GISEC (Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference) in Dubai.

According to the company, the Nexus Framework is an AI-native, open next-generation integrated security platform that can efficiently link and manage various security solutions that had been operated separately on a single platform.

Genians explained it integrated its network access control (NAC), zero trust network access (ZTNA) and integrated endpoint security platform (Insights E) into the Nexus Framework and built a systematic security operating environment to implement zero trust architecture (ZTA).

Genians said it plans to accelerate its push into the Middle East market by building a sovereign security system optimised for local customer requirements through the Nexus Framework and supplying an optimal solution that ensures security sovereignty.

Gye-yeon Kim (김계연), Genians CTO and head of its U.S. subsidiary, said the outcome of the national project is meaningful in that it completed a global platform that binds the ecosystem of Korean security technologies into one beyond overseas expansion centred on a single product. Based on more than 70 customer references in the Middle East, Kim said, Genians will link strong Korean solutions to the platform and fulfil its role as an outpost and representative platform that leads the joint global expansion of K-security.
