U.S. asset manager Strive bought an additional 469 bitcoin, increasing its holdings to 25,000 BTC. It continues to buy even after moving into the world’s top five bitcoin holders among listed companies.
On Sept. 14, local time, Cointelegraph and filings submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showed Strive bought 469 BTC from Sept. 8 to 11, spending about $36.6 million. The average purchase price was $77,954 per bitcoin including fees and expenses.
Matt Cole (맷 콜), Strive’s chief executive officer, said the company fully funded the bitcoin purchase through the sale of the company’s floating-rate perpetual preferred stock, SATA. Over the same period, the number of SATA shares outstanding rose by 402,541 to about 10.4 million, and the unpaid notional value topped $1 billion.
As of Sept. 11, Strive holds $204.2 million in cash and cash equivalents. It also holds 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC preferred stock led by Michael Saylor (마이클 세일러), valued at about $49.8 million at the time.
Strive previously rose to fifth place in bitcoin holdings among listed companies after securing an additional 1,800 bitcoin at the end of last month, overtaking crypto exchange Bullish. The company was founded in 2022 by Vivek Ramaswamy (비벡 라마스와미) and others, and shifted into a Nasdaq-listed bitcoin treasury company after merging with Asset Entities in 2025.
A rise in the share price is also increasing room for additional fundraising. Strive shares recently traded above the $27 warrant exercise price, and if warrants are exercised in large volumes before maturity, more than $700 million in new funds could flow in. The actual amount raised, however, depends on whether the warrants are exercised.
Cole also mentioned the possibility that Strive could hold the second-largest amount of bitcoin among listed companies by the end of the year. He added that he does not see this as the base case.
