Hancom With, the holding company of the Hancom Group, said on Thursday that core technology behind its deepfake-detection speaker authentication solution Hancom AISRC SPEEKEY received positive evaluations at global speech and signal processing conferences INTERSPEECH and ICASSP.
The company said the Soongsil University AI Security Research Center (AISRC), which researches and develops SPEEKEY’s core technology, had seven papers accepted at this year’s INTERSPEECH.
It achieved second place in the ICASSP WildSpoof Challenge. WildSpoof is a global competition that pits voice deepfake creation and detection technologies against each other using in-the-wild data.
AISRC received results that surpassed the overall top-ranked team in an evaluation category (SpoofCeleb) that reflects real-world noise and diverse recording environments, Hancom With said.
Hancom With plans to use the research results to enhance the accuracy of SPEEKEY’s AI-generated voice detection and expand its business, focusing on industries that require high security such as voice authentication in finance and voice phishing detection for call centers.
Hancom With CEO Sang-yeop Song (송상엽) said, "This achievement shows that SPEEKEY’s technical reliability and differentiation are at a global level." He added, "Based on proven technology, we will strengthen SPEEKEY’s competitiveness and establish ourselves as a company that protects customers from cybercrime that exploits generative AI."
