iM UPay, an affiliate of iM Financial Group, will provide transit cards preloaded with 100,000 won each to 100 young people taking part in self-reliance projects and volunteer work.

iM UPay held a handover ceremony for the "iM Happy Companionship, Love Transit Card" at the Daegu Metropolitan Self-Reliance Center, it said on Thursday.

Under the programme, it will provide One Pass transit cards preloaded with 100,000 won each to a total of 100 young people, including those participating in self-reliance projects and those taking part in local community volunteer activities.

The supported One Pass cards can be used not only on buses and taxis, but also at convenience stores, fish and produce market parking lots and the Daegu city hall cafeteria.

The iM Social Contribution Foundation also plans to provide financial education for young people participating in self-reliance projects, focusing on asset building and prevention of financial fraud, alongside the transit card support.

Yoon Jae-woong (윤재웅), CEO of iM UPay, said he hopes the programme will provide practical help to young people preparing for independence and to those participating in community sharing. He said the company will continue to expand ESG projects that reflect the nature of its business.
