Microsoft has unveiled an AI tool called Dynamics 365 Activate to help customers using other companies' CRM systems switch more easily to its Dynamics 365.

Released as a public preview, the tool prioritises support for companies migrating from Salesforce to Dynamics 365. ERP-related functions will be added within this year.

The company said changing enterprise applications has been a complicated task. Dynamics 365 Activate helps partners and customers switch faster by reducing manual work and lowering migration risks. The company said it was developed based on hundreds of recently successful Dynamics 365 migration cases.

Microsoft said it sees companies moving from Salesforce to Dynamics 365 as its most important target, rather than focusing on generic scenarios. It plans to roll out support for other companies' CRM and ERP applications in stages.

Dynamics 365 Activate analyses an existing Salesforce environment to identify data, business processes, customisations and dependencies. It then automatically generates configuration values and automatically runs part of the migration work, including safeguards.
