[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang (황치규)] Apple will release iOS 27 on Sept. 14 local time. The key to this update is the AI voice assistant Siri AI.
The Verge reported on Sept. 9 that Siri AI will first be provided as a beta on English-only devices.
Apple said it plans to add support in October for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
In addition to Siri AI, iOS 27 also revamps the screen interface.
Apple added a new Liquid Glass opacity control, allowing users to choose an interface feel between a clearer screen and a frosted look.
Many preloaded app icons will also adopt a new design with slightly adjusted colors.
Widget and lock screen settings have also been expanded. Extra-large widgets are added, and an option is included to display the time very small on the lock screen. Users can also set separate volume levels for ringtones, alarms, timers, various alerts and system sounds.
Apple will apply these features to iOS 27 on Sept. 14.
