LG Uplus said on Monday it is recruiting the 17th cohort of its university ambassador programme, 'YouthSpirit'.

YouthSpirit is an external activity programme in which university students representing Generation Z directly experience LG Uplus' Uth brand for people in their 20s and various other products and services, and help raise willingness to recommend them among people in their 20s. It means "people in their 20s who take on challenges with the spirit of Uth" and is recruited and run each year in the first and second halves.

Based on everyday experiences, the 17th YouthSpirit cohort will take part in promoting and advising on products, services and benefits; planning and operating the Uth Campus Festival; planning Uth brand campaigns; producing content using products, services and benefits; and discovering trend keywords among university students.

Students who want to participate must complete an application and a preliminary mission and submit an online application by Feb. 1. Only those with a public personal Instagram account can apply to work as marketers. Applicants with capabilities in planning and producing digital content, or strong interest in marketing, IT or technology, may receive preferential consideration in the selection process.

Selected students will be active from March to July. The final selectees will receive benefits including exemption from the document screening stage when applying for entry-level hiring at LG Uplus, a monthly activity stipend, studio profile photography, roles as representative models for brand films, press releases and YouTube channels, influencer networking opportunities and mentoring by practitioners, training by marketing content experts, and support for channel growth through uploads on LG Uplus' official accounts and partnership ad placements.

Kim Darim, head of marketing communications at LG Uplus, said YouthSpirit is a participatory programme based on relationships between people in their 20s and Uplus, going beyond simple promotional activities. She said she hopes for strong interest and applications from university students who want to grow into creators through content production and campaign planning experience and represent Uplus.
