Kawasaki patents modular-frame electric motorcycle design
Japanese heavy industry company Kawasaki has disclosed a patent for an electric motorcycle design that can mount different types of electric motors on a single frame. The patent proposes a modular mounting system in which the motor and transmission are installed on a separate subframe connected to the main frame. The approach is expected to raise production efficiency and expand parts sharing, and could help reduce costs and, eventually, prices for electric motorcycles.
