POSCO Future M completes approval for investment in Vietnam anode material plant
POSCO Future M will build its first overseas production base for synthetic graphite anode materials in Vietnam after receiving an investment registration certificate from Thai Nguyen province at a Korea-Vietnam business forum in Hanoi. The company plans to invest about 357 billion won, break ground on a first-phase plant in the second half of this year at the Song Cong 2 industrial complex, and begin mass production in 2028. It said it has secured customers for the first-phase volume.

POSCO Future M said on March 16 it signed a long-term supply contract with a global automaker for synthetic graphite anode material worth about 1.01 trillion won, its largest anode-material deal since entering the business in 2011. The contract covers 2027 to 2032 for 5 years and can be extended by mutual agreement. The company is investing 357 billion won to build a plant in Vietnam and plans further investment depending on additional orders.
