Naver Webtoon blocks illegal leaks in advance with Toon Radar, paid spending up 23 percent
Naver Webtoon said on Tuesday that paid spending on major titles rose by an average 23 percent through Toon Radar, its system to block illegal distribution. A report on first-quarter 2026 results showed the number of works leaked to illegal sites within 24 hours of release on its Korean-language service fell 90 percent by the end of the quarter versus the start of the year. Some titles recorded a 60 percent increase.

Naver Webtoon pays creators 41.5 trillion won over five years, to invest 70 billion won this year
Naver Webtoon held a media briefing in Seoul on March 17 to disclose results of its creator support and its business direction for this year. Kim Yong-su (김용수), appointed Webtoon Entertainment president on March 5, attended an official event for the first time. The company said Webtoon Entertainment distributed a total of 41.5 trillion won to creators from 2021 to 2025 and will invest more than 70 billion won this year to discover works and support creators.

Naver Webtoon pilots global simultaneous serialization, payments up to 208 percent
Naver Webtoon said a pilot programme removing the publication time gap between its Korean and global services showed clear benefits in protecting creator income. The company aligned the return dates after hiatus for four Korean original webtoons across Korean and multiple global-language services. It said all four titles posted sharp increases in seven-day payments and weekly readers versus the eight-week average before the hiatus, with global payments up as much as 208 percent.
