Ethereum \'worse than 2023\' as investment appeal sparks community controversy

Gnosis, zkSync announce Ethereum Economic Zone to address Layer 2 fragmentation

Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst (프리데리케 에른스트) and zkSync founder Jordi Baylina (조르디 바일리나) announced the Ethereum Economic Zone at the ETHCC conference in Cannes, The Block reported. The Ethereum Foundation co-funds the initiative, which aims to build a framework linking rollups synchronously within a single transaction. EEZ-linked rollups can call mainnet or other EEZ contracts, using ether as the base gas token without separate bridging infrastructure.

a16z Crypto updates Jolt zkVM, warns of misuse of \'ZK\' term

a16z Crypto, the crypto arm of Andreessen Horowitz, upgraded Jolt zkVM and said the blockchain industry is overusing the term zero-knowledge, or ZK. It warned that zkVM technology often does not deliver true zero-knowledge. It said implementing zero-knowledge in zkVMs requires a costly wrapping process that can harm transparency and create security issues. It also said the update provides a proof only about 3 KB larger than the original.
