Bitcoin slips below $80,000, short-term trend at crossroads

Nvidia shares fall despite earnings surprise

Nvidia posted quarterly results that beat market expectations, with revenue of $96.2 billion for the quarter ended in July, exceeding analysts’ forecast of $92.3 billion compiled by FactSet. Net profit was $59.7 billion and earnings per share were $2.46, both well above estimates. Data centre revenue, including AI servers, totalled $89.0 billion. Despite the beat, shares fell about 1 percent in after-hours trade.
