Korea Payment Networks obtains prepaid licence, completes stablecoin payment PoC

Korea Payment Networks, a unit of Korea Credit Data, has completed registration to issue and manage prepaid electronic payment instruments, the company said on Aug. 18. It is discussing prepaid service integration with large franchises, retailers and public institutions. The company plans brand-specific prepaid and top-up point systems, as well as services linked to vouchers and local currencies. It has also completed a proof of concept enabling USDC payments through its payment gateway.

Cafe24 sees data as core of its AI shopping mall vision

Cafe24 says it found that marketing, inventory and cash flow are linked, and chose to break bottlenecks by sorting products with data before advertising and recovering ad spending from sales. Ahn Eun-guk (안은국), a group team leader at its marketing centre, said many merchants lack inventory classification and cash visibility. The firm uses ABC and XYZ analysis to segment products, identifies items that sell without ads and offers a sales-linked ad model that pays ad costs first and recoups them through payment-settlement cycles.

NHN to expand AI GPU investment, secure additional 30 MW data centre capacity by next year

NHN is stepping up growth strategy centred on its artificial intelligence GPU business, planning to expand data centres and the latest GPU infrastructure and win overseas customers. It reported second-quarter revenue of 757.9 billion won and operating profit of 57.9 billion won, both record quarterly highs. NHN Cloud’s AI GPU business drove results, with cloud revenue up 85.3 percent. The company is also focusing game development on Japan and expanding payments into stablecoin settlement infrastructure.
