Lee Jae-geun picked as KB Financial next chairman, signaling change and generational turnover

KB Financial Group picked Lee Jae-geun as the final candidate for its next chairman, bypassing incumbent Yang Jong-hee despite expectations of a second term after record results. MSIT to name \'rising star\' research institute companies with stage-based support

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will push ahead with a 2026 programme to designate outstanding research institute companies by growth stage, it said on Tuesday. The ministry will classify firms as \'rising star\' or \'star\' and provide tailored support such as commercialisation-linked R&D, intellectual property consulting, follow-on investment links and overseas investor briefings. It will accept applications through Oct. 2 and award certificates in December.
