L&F Plus pushes development of \'precursor-free\' LFP cathode material
L&F Plus said on Sunday it has secured next-generation raw materials for LFP cathode materials by signing an MOU with Hyundai Steel to cooperate on the supply of iron oxide for lithium iron phosphate cathodes. The company plans to use the supplied iron oxide to develop LFP cathodes using a precursor-free process that skips the iron phosphate precursor step. It is targeting mass production in the first quarter of 2028.

Posco Future M agrees long-term supply of 190,000 tons of LFP cathode material to Korean battery maker
Posco Future M said on Wednesday it agreed with a South Korean battery maker on a large-scale, long-term supply of cathode material for LFP batteries. The deal calls for supplying more than 190,000 tons over six years from next year through 2032, with a formal contract expected in the third quarter. The company said it has completed facility conversion and plans to begin mass-production supply by year-end.

L&F completes LFP-dedicated subsidiary plant, mass production to start in Q3
L&F said on May 18 it has completed the L&F Plus plant, a dedicated subsidiary for LFP cathode materials, and will start mass production by the end of the third quarter. The plant was completed about nine months after construction began in August last year. Built on a roughly 100,000 square metre site in Daegu, the project targets 60,000 tons capacity with investment of 338.2 billion won.
