BMW to launch entry-level EV for Europe in 2028
BMW plans to launch an entry-level electric vehicle for the European market in 2028, using Neue Klasse technology applied to the new iX3 and i3 sedan. The company has not disclosed the model name, specifications or price, but indicated it could be the cheapest Neue Klasse EV. The vehicle is expected to focus on Europe and may not be sold in the United States. Reports have mentioned an i1 name and a five-door hatchback body, which BMW has not confirmed.

BMW iX3 takes one in three Europe EV orders in first year
BMW\'s new iX3 secured more than 100,000 orders in Europe within a year of its launch, EV outlet Electrek reported on Sept. 15. Since its September debut last year, the model has accounted for about one-third of BMW\'s European electric-vehicle orders, and around half of total X3 line-up orders were for the iX3. BMW said it recorded the best first-year start among its new models. Demand has also been seen outside Europe, including in China.

BMW iX5 to launch this summer with 144 kWh battery
BMW plans to equip its iX5 electric SUV, due to launch this summer, with a 144 kWh battery. The usable capacity for the U.S. iX5 xDrive60 is set at 144 kWh, while the European model is about 141 kWh, making it BMW’s largest battery among current EVs. BMW has not disclosed official range. The company is also updating suspension and using cell-to-pack technology, while testing in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
