NIS sets out five biggest cyber threats for 2025
South Korea\'s National Intelligence Service on Jan. 8 released its assessment of cyber threats, outlining major characteristics seen in 2024 and five threats it expects in 2025. It said state-backed groups expanded technology theft and financially motivated hacking, with major incidents hitting platforms, telecoms, finance and public administration. It also cited a surge in ransomware attacks by international crime groups and said North Korean hackers stole 2.2 trillion won, using tactics including QR-code phishing.
