Samsung Securities ghost shares lawsuit ends after 7 years; top court upholds 1.87 billion won payment to NPS
South Korea\'s Supreme Court has wrapped up a damages lawsuit filed by the National Pension Service over losses from Samsung Securities\' so-called ghost shares dividend incident. The court upheld an appeals court ruling that limited Samsung Securities\' liability to 50 percent of the total loss and ordered it to pay about 1.87 billion won. The ruling also maintained the method of calculating losses based on the gap between sale prices and a normal price absent the incident.
