Korea household debt-servicing burden falls for seventh straight quarter, lowest since COVID-19
South Korea\'s household debt-servicing burden fell for a seventh straight quarter, with the total debt service ratio (DSR) at 11.4 percent at end-June, the lowest since the fourth quarter of 2020, BIS data showed. The DSR peaked at 12.3 percent in the third quarter of 2023 and has declined since. The credit gap was -5.7 percentage points at end-June, while the household debt-to-GDP ratio rose slightly and the government debt ratio hit another record.
