China\'s EV market: passenger cars go mainstream, electric buses saturate, heavy trucks surge
China\'s transport electrification is no longer described by a single adoption curve, with city buses moving into a replacement market, Cleantechnica reported. New urban buses are now almost all electric, and the focus has shifted to replacing earlier electric buses. Passenger cars have entered the mainstream, with electric vehicles making up just over half of new sales in 2025 and nearly 700 models available. Heavy electric trucks are growing quickly, while coach buses electrify more slowly.

Europe hits record, North America down 44 percent as EV sales diverge
The global electric vehicle market is showing sharp regional divergence. Europe recorded a September sales record, with volumes up 39 percent year on year to about 600,000 units, led by battery-electric vehicles. North America fell 44 percent to about 130,000 units, though analysts cited a base effect from last year’s rush ahead of the end of a U.S. tax credit. China’s September sales dropped 18 percent to 1.11 million units.
