AI reliance linked to skill decline among doctors and developers, studies show
As generative AI spreads rapidly in workplaces, studies are increasingly finding that heavier reliance on AI can reduce experts’ proficiency and understanding. Cases in medicine and software development showed performance fell when people who had grown used to AI support worked without it. Surveys of U.S. medical staff also found many nurses and doctors fear skill deterioration from overdependence. Researchers say the issue is maintaining expertise, not productivity, and stress improving how AI is used.

KT unveils Korean culture-focused AI safety benchmark KSAFE-MM
KT unveiled KSAFE-MM, a multimodal AI safety benchmark developed with Korea University to assess model safety in Korean-language and Korean cultural settings. The dataset includes KSAFE-MM-G, which adapts global risks to Korean cultural context, and KSAFE-MM-C, which reflects local issues such as rental deposit fraud and the Dokdo dispute. The benchmark contains 14,135 samples and was used to test 12 models. KT also built an automated evaluation pipeline and published results on arXiv and Hugging Face.

OpenAI\'s GPT-5.2 Pro derives new mathematical formula for quantum gravity
OpenAI and researchers at Princeton\'s Institute for Advanced Study announced a new mathematical result in quantum gravity using AI, with findings posted on arXiv. The team used OpenAI\'s GPT-5.2 Pro and said its approach helped uncover new mathematical structure. They analysed graviton scattering amplitudes and proved a single-minus amplitude need not be zero at tree level in a half-collinear regime. Researchers said verifying and writing up the result took the most time.
