As debate continues in South Korea over regulating digital assets, financial firms are accelerating efforts to secure related infrastructure. Banks, securities firms and asset managers are moving beyond investment and cooperation with exchanges to widen ties with global blockchain foundations, real-world asset companies and token securities platforms. KB Securities signs MOU with Canton, Wavebridge to build digital asset infrastructure
KB Securities is partnering with the Canton Foundation and Wavebridge to push a shift in South Korea\'s capital markets toward distributed ledger-based infrastructure. The three signed a memorandum of understanding on June 4 at KB Securities\' headquarters in Seoul\'s Yeouido district. They will jointly review applying Canton Network-based infrastructure to domestic capital market transactions. They also plan to expand cooperation to introducing distributed ledger-based financial products and building overseas distribution infrastructure.

Wavebridge to expand institutional digital asset trading with AI-based prime brokerage
Wavebridge plans to begin a full-scale upgrade of its digital asset infrastructure for institutions and corporate clients from 2026. The company aims to build a trading environment centred on a prime broker platform that integrates trading, clearing and liquidity connections into a single system. It also plans to add AI automation for order execution, automate financial tasks and pursue AI and blockchain proof-of-concept projects. The company plans to extend AI into settlement and reconciliation testing.
