KB Kookmin Bank issues first US dollar digital bond by a Korean bank
KB Kookmin Bank has successfully issued a blockchain-based US dollar digital bond, the first such deal by a South Korean bank. The bank said it sold a $100 million two-year digital bond with HSBC as sole arranger. The bond was issued via the HSBC Orion digital asset platform and linked to a clearing and settlement system run by a central securities depository under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

XRP seen as long-term savings asset amid inflation
A prominent XRP Ledger developer said XRP could serve as a long-term savings asset in an inflationary environment. He compared traditional bank savings with holding digital assets, saying inflation steadily undermines the real value of fiat currencies and that deposit rates of 4 to 6 percent may not offset it. He cited cross-border payment use, ETF-driven institutional interest, stablecoins such as RLUSD and on-chain tokenisation of real-world assets as supportive factors.
