Intel unveils 288-core Xeon 6+ CPU targeting AI and 6G networks
Intel unveiled a 288-core Xeon 6+ CPU at MWC 2026 in Barcelona, SiliconANGLE reported. The chip targets next-generation AI networks and data centres and uses a multi-chip design with 12 compute tiles and 16 accelerators. Intel said it supports DDR5-8000 memory and UPI 2.0 interconnects to maximise data processing and AI inference. An executive said it supports real-time AI inference in virtualised RAN environments.

Google and Meta widen fintech gap by moving early into India and AI
Google and Meta are both expanding their fintech footprint, but Google has made clearer progress. Forbes reported Google has more than 150 million users for Google Pay, mainly in India and the United States. It credited a utility-focused approach integrating Google Wallet across core platforms and NFC-enabled payments. Google also collaborates with banks and supplies AI and cloud financial solutions. Meta’s efforts have faced trust issues, regulatory setbacks and limited WhatsApp Pay uptake in India.

Korea Exchange holds KRX-TR Annual Meeting says reporting system meets global standards
The Korea Exchange hosted the 2025 KRX-TR Annual Meeting in Seoul to celebrate the completion of an international standard reporting framework after the mandatory adoption of UTI, UPI and CDE reporting items in October. About 150 representatives from reporting entities and agencies took part. Crédit Agricole Bank, KB Kookmin Bank and Samsung Securities were named outstanding reporting institutions. The exchange said it will continue improving the system and strengthening its role as a global trade repository.
