Crypto industry disappointed as U.S. Senate delays CLARITY vote

The U.S. Senate has postponed a vote on the CLARITY bill, a digital asset market structure measure, until September, deepening disappointment across the cryptocurrency industry. The Senate failed to pass the bill before entering a month-long recess. A procedural step to bring the bill to the floor will require support from 60 senators. Some in the industry see the delay as increasing uncertainty given the timing ahead of the 2026 U.S. midterm elections.
