LG Uplus launches emergency response system to prevent voice phishing over Lunar New Year holiday
LG Uplus said on Wednesday it launched an emergency response system ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday to prevent a rise in voice phishing and smishing. It will step up monitoring from its Seoul Magok office to track and block malicious app control servers. The company said it will keep a hotline with police to share information quickly and respond to blocking requests. It will also warn customers via KakaoTalk alerts and reinforce AI-based spam blocking.
