Global \'supply chain diet\' gains traction as firms target cost cuts, risk diversification
Seven in 10 global companies plan to restructure their supply chains within five years as prolonged trade wars and recession concerns fuel a push to cut costs and diversify risk. A Conference Board survey shows 71 percent of U.S. CEOs and 77 percent of European CEOs plan changes within three to five years. Apple has shifted production toward India and Vietnam while keeping China for non-U.S. sales. South Korean groups are also adjusting production footprints.
