Temasek still not considering crypto investments, aims to raise AI share to 15 percent
Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek reaffirmed it is still excluding direct cryptocurrency investment from consideration, citing regulatory uncertainty. It said it does not directly invest in any cryptocurrency and is focusing instead on blockchain technology and related infrastructure. Temasek maintained this stance after writing off its entire $275 million investment in FTX following the exchange\'s November 2022 bankruptcy. It is raising AI as a core investment area and plans to increase AI-related assets to 15 percent of its portfolio by 2031.

UpscaleAI raises $190 million to speed development of AI switch chip
Datacenter networking startup UpscaleAI has raised an additional $190 million in funding, SiliconANGLE reported on June 22. The round was led by Premji Invest, with participation from Nvidia, Salesforce Ventures, Seligman Ventures and Temasek. UpscaleAI is developing scale-up and scale-out switches optimized for AI workloads. It is focusing on its in-house Skyhammer chip to address delays caused by slow data exchanges between GPUs.

Interest is growing in solid state transformer, or SST, technology. In recent months, related startups have raised $280 million, TechCrunch reported. Competitors including Ampersand, DG Matrix and Heron Power are vying for position, with total funding topping $330 million, PitchBook said.
