British army to buy 1,025 surveillance drones
Britain\'s army will introduce 1,025 small drones to strengthen battlefield surveillance and reconnaissance. The Defence Ministry is procuring the drones under a 16 million pound contract and said deliveries are close to completion. Separately, it will spend up to 400 million pounds over about 10 years on long-range surveillance drones to replace the Watchkeeper system used since 2014, starting with six AR5 drones and potentially expanding to 24 by 2029.
