NateOn adds gifting feature in update as it evolves into lifestyle platform

Nate Communications said on Tuesday it has carried out a major overhaul of its NateOn messenger to maximise user convenience and business efficiency. The update, a follow-up to the social login introduced in January, adds an in-app gifting service to let users send gifts without leaving conversations. It also introduces one-touch contact syncing to add friends from a phone address book. The PC teamroom feature will be upgraded, including longer messages and a full-view function.

NateOn introduces social login, access via Naver and Kakao accounts

Nate Communications said on Tuesday it has introduced a social login feature to its messenger service NateOn to broaden user accessibility. Through updates under way since Jan. 14, users can access the service immediately with existing social accounts without creating a separate ID, even if they are not Nate members. Supported platforms are Kakao, Naver, Google and Apple. The company said it applies OAuth and offers a continuous experience across PC and mobile.
