Post office rooftops become drone bases as Japan Post and KDDI test drone hubs
Japan Post and KDDI have started a demonstration project in Suzu, Ishikawa prefecture, using a post office as a drone take-off and landing hub. The companies installed a droneport on the roof of the Suzu post office and will use drones to inspect school routes in normal times and to check damage and residents’ safety during disasters. The demonstration runs until Oct. 4.
