AI data centre bottleneck is power, lifting value of bitcoin miners
Bitcoin mining companies are emerging as key players in the AI infrastructure supply chain by leveraging electricity access and data centre sites. Cointelegraph cited Bernstein as saying listed miners control more than 27 gigawatts of planned power capacity and have announced 3.7 gigawatts of AI-related contracts worth more than $90 billion. Bernstein said power access is now the main constraint on AI data centre expansion, prompting miners to pivot after the 2024 halving.
