Energy emerges as real beneficiary amid AI boom as money flows into power and transformer markets
As investment enthusiasm for AI startups continues, data centre power shortages are emerging as a new opportunity. Venture capital funding for AI has exceeded $500 billion over five years, but many planned data centre projects face delays due to limited electricity supply. Big tech companies are moving to secure power through renewable and on-site generation, while interest is rising in long-duration storage and solid-state transformers to manage higher-density demand.
