AI for Everyone service to launch this year, led by SKT, KT and Kakao
South Korea selected SK Telecom, KT and a Kakao consortium as operators for the nationwide “AI for Everyone” project, the science ministry said on Thursday. The consortiums will use their lead organisations’ strengths to launch public-facing AI services this year. Evaluations reviewed model and service competitiveness, GPU use and infrastructure plans, plus convenience, user acquisition strategies, quality and safety. The ministry plans contracts in September, a beta service and formal launch this year.

Upstage unveils Solar Pro 4, available on OpenRouter and others
Upstage unveiled Solar Pro 4, a commercial large language model with enhanced reasoning and agent capabilities, the company said on Thursday. It has been listed on the U.S. Nous Research Hermes Agent and the API routing platform OpenRouter, the first Korean model to be registered there, Upstage said. The company said cumulative token usage topped 80 billion within three days. It also posted benchmark results and said Solar Pro 4 is applied to its Upstage Studio document-processing solution.

Upstage launches AI document processing platform Studio
Upstage on Thursday launched Upstage Studio, an integrated AI document processing solution that brings together its core technologies for parsing, document classification and information extraction on a single platform. It can automatically read, classify and extract data from complex documents within seconds and supports files of up to 1,000 pages. Users can build automated workflows without coding, integrate via APIs and manage throughput, accuracy and errors through a dashboard.
