Bitcoin reclaims $62,000 as major cryptocurrencies rebound

Bitcoin rose back above $62,000, lifting major cryptocurrencies after a recent slide. Solana Foundation launches protocol-level governance framework

The Solana Foundation introduced a new governance framework, Solana Governance Proposals (SGP), to let validators and delegators make protocol-level decisions on-chain. Validators with at least 100,000 SOL delegated can submit proposals. Voting power is based on delegated SOL, and proposals need backing from validators representing at least 15 percent of active staked tokens to proceed to formal voting. The foundation also broadened delegator rights and separated smaller upgrades into Solana Improvement Documents (SIMD).

OpenUSD aims to reshape stablecoin revenue model, compete head-on with USDC

OpenStandard has unveiled OpenUSD, a stablecoin that shares reserve income with distribution and payment partners rather than paying returns directly to holders. The project is positioned as a shared infrastructure with more than 140 named partners, including Visa, Stripe and Coinbase. Key disclosures such as supply, redemption history and reserve details have not been released, with launch expected in late 2026. The model comes as U.S. policymakers debate restricting yield on payment stablecoin balances.
