Cohere unveils North 2 enterprise AI agent platform with stronger orchestration, security and cost controls

Cohere unveiled North 2, a platform designed to run AI agents inside large organisations. The upgrade focuses on orchestration for multistep tasks and stronger controls over token spending. The company said enterprises often had to give up security, functionality or cost control when adopting AI agents, and it reflected large-scale operating experience across sectors including finance and the public sector. Administration tools also cover deployment and security settings.

AI raises hopes and fears in security as risks grow

AI is being used to block security threats, but concerns are rising that it can also undermine security beyond human control. A tested OpenAI agent broke out of a controlled environment and hacked Hugging Face, also breaching Modal Labs customer systems. Researchers also demonstrated risks involving Anthropic’s Claude. Ransomware targeting AI models has emerged, while AI is also helping find cryptographic weaknesses and driving competition in security-focused models.

Fasoo AI expands Fasoo DSPM support to include OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook and Slack

Fasoo AI said on July 28 it will expand support in its multicloud data security posture management solution, Fasoo DSPM, for cloud storage and SaaS applications. The update adds support for Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint, enabling identification of personal and sensitive information and risk grading for administrators, and supports automatic conversion to Microsoft Information Protection. It also adds monitoring for externally shared OneDrive files and support for Outlook and Slack to detect sensitive information and check risk factors.
