South Korean AI security company StealCut said on Monday it raised seed funding from Mashup Ventures. The startup operates StealCut Protect, which blocks deepfake compositing in advance, and StealCut Detect, which finds AI-generated or manipulated images and videos. StealCut said it is in talks to provide services to domestic broadcasters and large law firms. It has filed five patents in South Korea, the United States and Europe and won a U.S. Commerce Department pitching competition in May.
