Robinhood buys $75 million stake in OpenAI, opening route for retail investors into private AI
Robinhood bought a small stake in OpenAI worth $75 million, expanding a route for retail investors to gain indirect exposure to private AI companies. The deal was made through Robinhood Ventures Fund I, which began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in March. Robinhood said the number of private companies now exceeds listed firms by more than 6.5 times and their estimated U.S. value tops $10 trillion.
