Undisclosed Anthropic model makes progress on Riemann hypothesis
An unreleased Anthropic AI model has made meaningful progress in research on the Riemann hypothesis, a long-standing mathematical problem, by significantly raising the lower bound on solutions for which the hypothesis holds. The result does not amount to a general proof. The work involved an Anthropic employee giving the model a prompt and letting it self-direct for about a day and a half, testing 650 ideas and running 60 sub-agents.
