Meta expands Louisiana AI data centre to 5 GW, investment tops $50 billion
Meta has expanded the planned scale of its data centre in Richland Parish, Louisiana, to 5 gigawatts and increased its investment commitment for the site to more than $50 billion. The company calls the project Hyperion and said it would support more than 1,000 jobs at full operation. Local reports cited the possibility of additional spending that could lift total costs further. The project includes outside funding and major power-supply buildout.
