U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission commissioner Hester Peirce, who has led the agency\'s cryptocurrency task force, is set to step down in November after being appointed an associate professor at Regent University School of Law in Virginia. Her departure is expected to widen leadership vacancies at the SEC. With no replacement named, the SEC would be left with only Chair Paul Atkins and commissioner Mark Uyeda, both Republicans.
