Ontology emerges as core AI technology, not DB or LLM
Ontology is increasingly discussed in the AI industry as a way to overcome limits of generative AI, with interest rising after Palantir’s reported success. Kim Hak-rae (김학래), a professor at Chung-Ang University, described ontology as making tacit human knowledge explicit in documents or data. He contrasted it with relational databases, vector databases and large language models, and explained its structure, construction methods and potential as a guardrail. He also stressed data foundations matter more than ontology itself.

Agent banking is coming; Webcash says bank competition to intensify next year
B2B fintech firm Webcash is moving to secure solutions for the emerging era of AI agent banking, which it sees as a core axis of next-generation financial competition. At a conference in Seoul, it unveiled the architecture and use cases of OPERIA, an engine that connects general-purpose AI with banks’ relational databases. Webcash said internal tests showed 99 percent accuracy in its cash management solution and introduced a V2 cash management agent expanding coverage to about 800 customers.

Webcash to hold Financial AI Agent Conference 2026 on April 23
Webcash will hold the “Webcash Financial AI Agent Conference 2026” on April 23 at the Grand Ballroom of FKI Tower in Yeouido, Seoul. The company plans to declare it has entered the commercialization and expansion stage of financial AI agent technology and to lay the groundwork for broader business cooperation centered on the financial sector. The event will present field-tested deployment cases, technical innovation and service-level application standards.
