Software Promotion Act amendment passes National Assembly plenary session, strengthening compensation calculation for scope changes
A partial amendment to the Software Promotion Act that includes strengthening the framework for scope changes and ensuring appropriate compensation in public software projects passed a National Assembly plenary session on July 23. The bill, proposed by lawmaker Lee Hae-min and 12 others, aims to bolster the effectiveness of project scope review committees and establish a basis for implementing follow-up measures based on review outcomes. The Korea IT Service Industry Association welcomed the passage and said it will also present industry views during the drafting of subordinate regulations.
